Tommie Mike Christer Helgesson, professionally known as Snowy Shaw, is a multifaceted Swedish heavy metal musician, born on July 25, 1968. Based in the picturesque port city of Gothenburg, situated on the west coast of Sweden, Snowy has had the privilege of collaborating with numerous prominent heavy metal bands throughout his illustrious career.
Notably, Snowy has played with the esteemed King Diamond, the melodic heavy metal outfit Dream Evil, the influential Mercyful Fate, the lesser-known but still notable IllWill, and the doom metal band Memento Mori. Snowy's impressive skills extend beyond drumming, as he is also adept at playing the guitar.
As a primary songwriter for Dream Evil, Snowy has demonstrated his creative prowess in the realm of heavy metal music. In October 2006, Snowy joined the symphonic metal ensemble Therion, lending his vocals to the Gothic Kabbalah album and embarking on a 2007 tour with established vocalist Mats Levén. This collaboration marked a significant milestone in Snowy's career, solidifying his reputation as a versatile and accomplished musician.
In August 2010, Snowy was announced as the new bassist and clean vocalist of the symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir. However, his tenure with the band was short-lived, as he officially quit after just one day and subsequently rejoined Therion, further cementing his status as a respected figure in the heavy metal scene.
