Biography

Sol Berruezo Pichon-Rivière is a 25-year-old Argentine director and screenwriter born on February 19th, 1996. She graduated from the Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with a degree in Film Direction.

At the tender age of 21, Sol won the prestigious first prize at the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts of Argentina in 2017, a contest designed to support the first films of new directors.

Sol's debut film, "Mom, Mom, Mom" (Mamá, mamá, mamá),is a groundbreaking production that boasts an all-female crew and cast. This remarkable achievement showcases Sol's dedication to empowering women in the film industry.

Sol's debut film premiered at the 2020 Berlinale in the Generation section, where it received the Special Mention by the International Jury. Moreover, she made history by becoming the youngest director to participate in the 70th Berlinale.

In 2020, Sol secured the support of the Biennale College Cinema to produce her second film in collaboration with producer Laura Mara Tablón. The film, "Nuestros días mas felices" (Our happiest days),was shot in 2021 and had its world premiere at the Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica della Biennale di Venezia.
