Soumyajit's odyssey in the realm of cinematic arts commenced with his academic tenure at St.Xavier's College, Kolkata, where he embarked on a degree program in Mass Communication and Videography, laying the foundation for his future endeavors in the film industry.
As his passion for narrative storytelling and filmmaking continued to evolve, Soumyajit's creative energy was channeled into writing, directing, and producing his inaugural feature film, #Homecoming, which garnered significant attention during the scripting stage and was subsequently selected for mentorship at the esteemed NFDC Producer's Lab Film Bazaar 2019, held in the picturesque city of Goa.
Soumyajit's impressive acting career has been marked by his involvement in a plethora of critically acclaimed and commercially successful films, with a staggering 25 feature films under his belt prior to his decision to take a hiatus to focus on his #Homecoming project.
Soumyajit has also acted in various other festival-premiered films, such as the critically acclaimed 'Gandu', directed by Q, which made its debut at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival in the year 2011.
In addition, he has also appeared in the French film 'Crash Test Aglae', directed by Eric Gravel, which was showcased at the renowned Cannes International Film Festival in the year 2017.
