Spencer Estabrooks' professional journey began after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies at the University of Alberta, followed by a diploma in film production at VMPS.
Before settling at Acmeworks Digital Film, Estabrooks worked a variety of film-related jobs.
During his seven-year tenure at Acmeworks, he rose to the position of Senior Post Production Supervisor, where he built restoration and archiving workflows for renowned studios such as Warner Brothers, Cartoon Network, and HBO.
Throughout this period, Estabrooks utilized his free time to pursue his passion for genre filmmaking, producing and directing numerous short films.
These films, including "Deadwalkers", "The Hunt", "Sharkasaurus", and "One Hit Die", garnered international recognition, winning numerous awards and accolades, including Rue Morgue Magazine's Best Short of 2013 for "The Hunt".
In January 2015, Estabrooks left Acmeworks to focus on filmmaking full-time.
Within the first six months, he produced, wrote, directed, and edited his debut feature film, "Legend of the Lich Lord".
Before the dust had settled, Estabrooks began working on his next passion project, the documentary "Aleberta: Our Beer History".
Today, Spencer Estabrooks continues to seek out new and intriguing projects that blend his love of genre and his passion for storytelling.
