Stanton T. Friedman, a renowned nuclear physicist and lecturer, earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in physics from the University of Chicago in 1955 and 1956, respectively.
Friedman's professional career spanned 14 years, during which he worked as a nuclear physicist for prominent companies such as GE, GM, Westinghouse, TRW Systems, Aerojet General Nucleonics, and McDonnell Douglas. He was involved in highly advanced, classified, and eventually cancelled programs, including nuclear aircraft, fission and fusion rockets, and compact nuclear powerplants for space and terrestrial applications.
Friedman's interest in UFOs began in 1958, and since 1967, he has lectured about them at over 600 colleges and 100 professional groups across 50 US states, 10 Canadian provinces, and 18 other countries. He has also engaged in various nuclear consulting efforts and has published more than 90 UFO papers.
As a prominent figure in the field of ufology, Friedman has appeared on numerous radio and TV programs, including Larry King's show in 2007 and 2008, and has been featured in various documentaries. He is the original civilian investigator of the Roswell Incident and co-authored the book "Crash at Corona: The Definitive Study of the Roswell Incident."
Friedman's book "TOP SECRET/MAJIC," which explores the Majestic 12 group, was published in 1996 and went through six printings. An expanded edition was released in 2005. He received a Lifetime UFO Achievement Award in Leeds, England, in 2002, and was honored with Stanton Friedman Day by the City of Fredericton, New Brunswick, on August 27, 2007.
Friedman has co-authored several books, including "Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience" with Kathleen Marden in 2007, and "Flying Saucers and Science" in 2008, which is in its third printing. His latest book, "Science Was Wrong," co-authored with Kathleen Marden, was released in June 2010.
Throughout his career, Friedman has provided written testimony to Congressional Hearings, appeared twice at the United Nations, and has been a pioneer in various aspects of ufology, including Roswell, Majestic 12, and the Betty Hill-Marjorie Fish star map work. He has also analyzed the Delphos, Kansas, physical trace case, crashed saucers, flying saucer technology, and challenged the SETI cultists.
Friedman has spoken at more MUFON Symposia than anyone else and was a dual citizen of the USA and Canada.
