Stass Klassen is an accomplished international film, television, and theatre actor who has worked with renowned actors and directors across three continents. His extensive credits include starring roles in numerous film and television productions, such as Zero Day, Duster, The Comey Rule, The Blacklist, The Detour, and many others.
Born in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Stass Klassen initially studied quantum chemistry at Lomonosov Moscow State University before switching to acting and graduating from the prestigious Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute in Moscow. After his graduation, he embarked on a tour of the UK, playing the roles of Juliet and Benvolio in an all-male production of Romeo & Juliet, earning rave reviews from critics.
Following his UK tour, Stass Klassen moved to New York City to collaborate with prominent US theatre figures, including Martha Coigney and Edward Albee. He was a co-founder, producer, and lead actor at the New York Art Theatre, an Off-Broadway theatre company, and has accumulated over 20 theatre credits, including title roles in productions of "Something Cloudy, Something Clear", "The Idiot", and "Counting The Ways".
Stass Klassen's other notable theatre credits include appearances in the Metropolitan Opera production of The Nose, directed by William Kentridge, as well as productions of "Professor Bernhardi", "The Fall", "No Exit", "Ward No. 6", "The Broken Jug", "Too Clever By Half", "Lt. Nants", and "City Of Mice", among others.
He has also directed a one-woman show, "Me, Myself, and Anna", and co-directed "My Poor Marat" for the Voyage Theatre Company in New York City. Stass Klassen holds an MFA in acting from the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute and has studied theatre in Hamburg, Hanover, New York City, and Moscow.
