Stephan Schultze is a multifaceted filmmaker with a successful career spanning over a decade, having worked as a director of photography, screenwriter, director, producer, and showrunner. Throughout his career, he has developed an impressive portfolio of 12 feature films and two television series, all of which have been acquired through various distribution channels, including streaming, home video, and theatrical release.
Before embarking on his filmmaking journey, Schultze began his career in advertising, eventually making the move to Los Angeles to pursue his passion for film. He worked his way up the ranks, honing his skills alongside some of the industry's most renowned directors, including James Cameron, Ron Underwood, and Bryan Cranston.
Schultze's extensive experience in the film industry has allowed him to work on a wide range of projects, from major motion pictures such as The Abyss and Tremors to television shows like the Drew Carey Show and HBO productions. He has also worked on music videos, commercials, industrial videos, and independent films.
As the founding Executive Director of two film schools, Schultze has demonstrated his ability to inspire and empower others to reach their full potential. He has developed and implemented curriculum at both the community college and university levels, and has curated and moderated numerous panel discussions and workshops featuring industry professionals.
In his current role as Executive Director of the Cinematic Arts Center at Liberty University, Schultze has realized his vision of creating a studio-style curriculum, complete with state-of-the-art facilities that meet industry standards. Each year, he provides students with the opportunity to participate in a full-scale production, allowing them to learn the crafts and business of filmmaking in a real-world setting with professional mentorship.
In addition to his work in education, Schultze continues to develop content as a producer, director, and screenwriter, focusing on inspiring fiction and narratives based on true characters and events. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Appalachian State University, a Master's degree in Leadership from Northern Arizona University, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from Queens University.
