Stephanie Cristina Cayo Sanguinetti was born on April 8, 1988, in Lima, Peru. She began her acting career at a young age, capturing audiences' hearts with her role in Travesuras del Corazón at just nine years old. She later appeared in several TV series, including Besos Robados, which gained her international exposure.
At the age of 18, Cayo moved to New York City to study acting and dancing at schools such as The Actors Studio, The New York Film Academy, and The Broadway Dance Center. She considers this time in her life as "one of the most important stages in my life, discovering myself and art."
Cayo's career as an actress took off with her roles in TV series such as El Secretario and The Hypochondriac, earning her recognition and important awards, including the India Catalina for Best Female Actress in a TV show for her work in El Secretario in 2012.
In addition to her acting career, Cayo is also a talented singer and songwriter. She started singing and writing songs at an early age in her family's dance studio, an art school that focuses on dance, music, and acting for young talents.
In 2011, Cayo released her first music album, Llegaré, with Colombian producer Jose Gaviria. She has also landed lead roles in several musical theater productions, including the famous musical Chicago in Colombia.
Cayo's music career continued to grow with the release of her first single, "Let Me Go," a collaboration with Sebastian Llosa and produced by Renzo Bravvo and Raúl Chirinos. The song is available worldwide on different platforms.
Recent projects include her role as Mary Luz in the first Netflix Spanish series, Club de Cuervos, and her role as Milena in the psychological thriller La Hermandad on FOX Life Latam. She has also starred in her first movie, Yucatán, under the direction of Spanish director Daniel Monzón and alongside actors Luis Tosar and Rodrigo de la Serna.
