David Lack was born in the vibrant city of Montreal, Québec, Canada in the year 1946. He pursued his academic endeavors at McGill University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in psychology in 1967. Following his undergraduate studies, Lack continued his artistic development by enrolling in the master of fine arts program in sculpture at the esteemed Universidad Guanajuato in San Miguel, Mexico, which he successfully completed in 1969.
As a world-renowned painter, Lack has also ventured into the realm of acting, appearing in a total of nine films throughout his career. Some of his notable film credits include the 1981 sci-fi horror film Scanners, the 1988 psychological thriller Dead Ringers, and the 1990 art-house drama All the Vermeers in New York.
Lack's artistic prowess has been recognized and rewarded by several prestigious institutions. He has received awards from the National Endowment of the Arts and the Canada Council of the Arts, a testament to his exceptional talent and dedication to his craft.
