Stephen Larry Fahl, also known as Steve Fahl, is an American actor, voice actor, and writer with a diverse background. Born to a U.S. Marine father working at the Central Intelligence Agency and a secretary for Senator Robert Byrd, Fahl's maternal grandparents were of Irish, German, Polish, and Czech descent, while his father had Irish, Welsh, Scottish, and German roots.
Fahl's early life was marked by his adoptive parents' divorce, which led him to attend two Virginia high schools, Chantilly High School and T.C. Williams High School. He graduated from the latter and later served in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he worked as a radioman, infantryman, and base-guard.
After his military service, Fahl pursued higher education, majoring in International Business and eventually earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Digital Cinema Production and Screenwriting from the University of Hawaii in 2016.
Fahl began his career in the entertainment industry as a day-player, voice actor, and commercial model, working on ads, TV shows, and movies produced by Hollywood, French, Russian, UK, Chinese, Thai, and Indian film industry crews filming in Thailand. He also served as a stand-in, body-double, and photo-double for tall leading men such as John Cusack, Jean Reno, David Thewlis, and Bradley Cooper.
Fahl made his U.S. TV debut with a speaking role on the popular TV series Hawaii Five-0 in September 2016, directed by Bryan Spicer. His feature film debut was in the 2013 movie Madras Cafe, where he played the role of an arms trafficker named Reed. Prior to this, he had appeared in several non-speaking roles, including Navy medic Doc in Oba: The Last Samurai and U.S. Marine Barnie Barnes on the Military Channel's war-documentary series Ultimate Warfare.
