Steve's journey in the world of broadcasting began in his hometown of Thompson, Manitoba, where he attended high school and became involved with the local cable station run by Videon Cable. At this station, he honed his skills by filming and editing local broadcasts of City Council and School Board meetings, as well as capturing the excitement of town hockey games.
This experience led to the creation of a video show called "Video Noize," where Steve and his friends would rock out by headbanging on a couch in a basement, accompanied by bootlegged punk music in the background. The cable director took notice of Steve's talent and signed him up for a class at Native Communications Incorporated (NCI),where he learned the ins and outs of producing a production from start to finish.
At NCI, Steve worked on a variety of projects, including Crime Stoppers videos and a news story about Viking Helicopters, which were instrumental in fighting forest fires in the region that summer. Additionally, he lent his voice to the radio channel, which aired on CBC television, providing character voices and writing comedy material.
Fast forward to 1994, and Steve found himself in Seattle, where he met a local comedy troupe working on the TV show Almost Live! During his time with the troupe, Steve contributed to a few skits, wrote, acted in, and edited parts of one episode.
After returning to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1995, Steve began his professional career. He took a hiatus from acting, but in 2017, he caught the acting bug once again and has since been involved in several projects shooting in the Winnipeg area.
