Steven St. Croix, a skilled mason since the tender age of 14, embarked on a journey that would take him to various cities across the United States, each new destination marked by a series of diverse occupations and pursuits.
Initially, he settled in Albuquerque, where he honed his culinary skills as a cook, eventually landing a side gig as a voice impersonator on a local radio morning show. This newfound talent led him to travel the country, working for a magazine subscription service that went door-to-door, ultimately finding himself in Miami.
It was in Miami that he auditioned for a spot at the renowned Crazy Horse male revue club, and simultaneously danced at Le'Bare male revue in Ft. Lauderdale. A subsequent move to Los Angeles was prompted by a friend who sought to establish a band, and after the band parted ways with its manager, St. Croix took on various sales roles, peddling office supplies, Craftmatic beds, and Life Alert systems over the phone.
He eventually landed a job selling adult videos, where he was approached with an offer to become a production assistant on a film directed by Ron Jeremy. Just two days into filming, a scheduled actor was arrested for outstanding traffic warrants, prompting the production company to scramble for a replacement.
In a moment of serendipity, St. Croix offered to take on the scene, and his impressive acting abilities and on-camera presence quickly gained attention. His star began to rise in the adult film industry, and he became the first male star to be given an exclusive contract with Vivid Video, allowing him to perform, act, and direct.
In 1996, his "package" was insured by Lloyd's of London for a staggering $1 million, following his purchase of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
