Susanna Harter was born into a family of seven children, four sisters and three brothers, in the working town of Anderson, Indiana. Despite graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the Indiana University School of Law, Harter's true calling was in the world of show business. Her early introduction to the theater was in elementary school, where she continued to develop her skills throughout her high school years, writing, directing, and performing in numerous plays.
During her time at Central Jr. High, Harter took the initiative to establish the school's first Drama Club, which remains active to this day. At Ball State University, before pursuing a career in law, Harter immersed herself in the school's theater and dance program, appearing in various dramatic and musical productions. This experience eventually led to her auditioning on Broadway.
Harter's Off-Broadway credits include "The French Lieutenant's Woman," "Inherit The Wind," and "Little Me." She transitioned from stage to screen by appearing in several episodes of the soap opera "The Guiding Light." The opportunity to play the role of Dr. Heather Lloyd on the ABC soap "General Hospital" marked the beginning of her west coast career.
Since then, Harter has made guest appearances as an attorney in various television shows, including "Monk," "Out of Practice," and "Smith." Her career is ongoing, with more projects in development.
