Suzanna Love, a captivating brunette, embarked on a cinematic journey, collaborating with her writer/director husband Ulli Lommel on a series of unconventional, imaginative, and offbeat independent films from the late 1970s to the early 1990s. Born into the esteemed Dupont family, Suzanna grew up in Manhattan and attended Vassar College. Her early life was marked by her participation in pageants in London and stage plays during her high school years.
Love's passion for acting led her to pursue formal training, and she briefly joined the McCarter Theatre before making her film debut in Milos Forman's "Hair." In 1979, she married Lommel and went on to deliver impressive performances in several of his films, including the supernatural horror hit "The Boogeyman," in which she played the troubled Lacey, and its sequel "Boogeyman II." Her other notable roles included the imperiled Kaylie Bedford in "BrainWaves," the enigmatic Olivia in the titular film, and the feisty liberated school teacher Jenny Scanlon in "The Devonsville Terror."
Suzanna also co-starred with Klaus Kinski in "Revenge of the Stolen Stars" and appeared in her final film role to date as a destitute lady in "A Smile in the Dark." The couple divorced in 1987. Beyond her acting career, Love co-produced the action film "Warbirds" and co-wrote the scripts for "The Boogeyman," "Boogeyman II," "BrainWaves," "The Devonsville Terror," and "Strangers in Paradise."
Today, Suzanna Love resides in Maine with her daughter, having put her remarkable acting career behind her.
