Suzanne Weber, a talented individual with a multifaceted career, has made a significant impact in the entertainment industry. She was a key member of the team behind Disney's critically acclaimed and award-winning series, Andi Mack, serving as a writer for all three seasons.
Weber is perhaps best known for creating the character Anita Liberty, a performance poet who gained notoriety after her boyfriend, Mitchell, left her for another woman. In response, Anita devoted her career to publicly humiliating Mitchell, and Weber has written several books under this pseudonym, including How to Heal the Hurt by Hating, How to Stay Bitter Through the Happiest Times of Your Life, and The Center of the Universe (Yep, That Would Be Me).
In addition to her work as Anita Liberty, Weber has also written several books under her own name, including To What Miserable Wretches Have I Been Born? Revenge Poetry for Babies and Toddlers. Her writing has been published by various notable publishing houses, such as Villard, Ballantine, Simon Pulse, and Simon & Schuster.
As a television writer, Weber has developed and sold several original half-hour comedy pilot scripts, including "Not Like the Others" for Brillstein Entertainment and ABC Studios, "Play Nice" for ABC Studios, "Blindsided" for NBC, and "Perfect Couple" for HBO Studios and ABC. She has also adapted her books into pilot scripts, including "How to Stay Bitter..." for NBC Studios and Broadway Video, and "How to Heal the Hurt..." for NBC and CBS.
Weber has also ventured into the world of digital media, developing and writing the micro-series "Fresh Takes" for Unilever and MindShare Entertainment. This series, starring Alicia Keys, was produced for online viewing and broadcast on MTV's "The Hills".
In addition to her work in television and digital media, Weber has also performed numerous one-person shows as Anita Liberty at various venues across the country, including New York, Los Angeles, Aspen, and San Francisco. Her one-person show, "Not Thinking About You", was directed by R.J. Cutler and debuted at the HBO Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen.
Weber's short film, "Anita Liberty", directed by and co-written with Cutler, was produced by the Independent Film Channel and broadcast on Bravo. It was also an official selection at the Sundance Film Festival.
