Amy Jaynes, better known by her stage name Sydnee Steele, was born on September 23, 1968, in Dallas, Texas, to a college professor father. As a shy and introverted child, she was far from the confident and captivating adult film star she would later become.
After working as a financial officer for a yacht company in Texas and a jewelry saleswoman in a Dallas shopping mall, Sydnee met Michael Raven, a car salesman turned porn filmmaker, and the two got married. They shared a common interest in hardcore movies and swinging, which led them to move to Los Angeles, California, to pursue careers in the adult film industry.
Sydnee's entry into the adult entertainment business was facilitated by her friend A.J. Cromwell, the owner and publisher of the Texas adult entertainment listings guide "Sundown." She then met adult film director Brad Armstrong at a Gentleman's Expo and acted in her first major hardcore feature for him.
Throughout her career, Sydnee has worked with numerous prominent adult film companies, including Vivid, VCA Pictures, Sin City, Elegant Angel, and New Sensations, before signing an exclusive contract with Wicked Pictures in 2001. Her impressive performances have earned her several AVN Awards, including Best All-Girl Sex Scene--Video, Best Couples Sex Scene--Film, Best Actress--Video, and Best Supporting Actress--Video.
In addition to her work in the adult film industry, Sydnee has also made a name for herself as a writer. She penned the monthly column "The Steele Factor" for AVN from 2002 to 2004 and contributed articles to both AVN Online and "Club" magazine. She has also co-written the instructional book "Seducing Your Woman" with hypnotherapist Luke Smith, published in 2006.
In her personal life, Sydnee has pursued a career as a certified Pranic healer and sex coach, studying under the guidance of Dr. Patti Britton.
