Tajana Prka, a talented actress of Croatian heritage born in Munich, Germany, has made a significant impact in the filmmaking industry through her diverse roles and productions.
In 2013, she co-produced and starred in the feature-length psychological-thriller film TARGETING, directed by Tarique Qayumi. The movie tells the story of an American veteran who struggles to connect with her family upon returning home. The world premiere of TARGETING took place at the prestigious Dances With Films Festival in Los Angeles.
In 2011, Tajana relocated to Kabul, Afghanistan, to collaborate with director Tarique Qayumi on a TV miniseries called THE DEFENDERS, which aired on TOLO TV, the most popular television station in Afghanistan.
During her time in Afghanistan, she wrote and produced THE GIFT, which premiered at the Black Maria Festival in 2015 and was screened across the United States.
Tajana's current project, BLACK KITE, is a period piece that she produced in Kabul and premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. This project received funding from both the Canada Council for the Arts and the BC Council of Arts.
BLACK KITE has been invited to 16 film festivals worldwide and has received numerous accolades, including the 2018 Leo Awards for Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Director.
