Fujima Takako, a renowned Japanese actress, singer, and dancer, was born in 1977 in Tokyo to a family of actors and actresses. Her father, a kabuki artist, and uncle, a well-known actor, paved the way for her to follow in their footsteps. At the tender age of sixteen, Takako made her theatre debut, and at seventeen, she appeared in the NHK serial "Kura". She went on to host the annual New Year's Eve NHK show "Koohaku Uta Gassen" at nineteen, where she debuted her single "Ashita, Haru Ga Kitara" the following year. This marked the beginning of her successful singing career, releasing regular albums and going on tour for her soft pop music. Takako has worked with Universal Music and has been a full-fledged singer since then.
In addition to her music career, Takako has branched out into other areas. She attended Asia University but dropped out, and in 2003, she published a photo essay book. In her personal life, Takako married guitarist Sahashi Yoshiyuki in 2007, and they have a daughter born in 2015. The couple met while working on the 2001 song "Hana No Youni" and toured together. Yoshiyuki is sixteen years older than Takako and was previously married, which caused tension with her father. However, Takako forged ahead and skipped having a wedding party. She has also been linked to actor Oizumi Yo in the past.
Takako is known for her traditional Japanese dance, using the name Matsumoto Kouka. She has received several awards for her performances, including those for "Villon's Wife" and "Confessions" in 2009. In 2011, she left the Papado management agency and opened her own agency.
