Talita Maia, a multifaceted individual, was born in the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. From a young age, she was immersed in various artistic expressions, including theater, ballet, and classical piano. Her passion for performance led her to participate in numerous events, such as retirement home and orphanage visits, school plays, and church productions.
As she grew older, Talita's interests expanded to include judo, in which she became a district champion. At the age of sixteen, she began her college journey, pursuing a degree in marketing while simultaneously taking her first professional acting class with renowned Brazilian director Walter Lima Jr.
During her four-year college tenure, Talita also decided to pursue law school. However, after one year of studying at both universities, she abandoned her law school pursuits to focus on her marketing degree. Upon graduating, she was hired as a junior account manager at a multinational advertising agency.
Talita's professional journey took a new turn when she relocated to the United States, where she earned a 2-year certification in film studies at UCLA. She subsequently built a successful career in voice-over and on-screen acting, with credits including TV shows like "Community" on NBC, "Why Women Kill" on Paramount+, and "ICarly Revival" on Paramount+, as well as the independent pilot "Blow Me" alongside Tony Shalhoub and Jeremy Sisto, where she played the female lead.
As a voice-over and dubbing actor, Talita has amassed over 12 credits as the lead voice for cartoons, documentaries, and series for networks like Netflix, FOX, and TV Globo.
Despite her success in acting, Talita had always harbored a desire to direct. However, it wasn't until a 2018 ski accident that required surgery and over a year of physical therapy that she decided to put her on-screen acting career on hold and pursue her dream of directing.
Talita's film, "Tempest Desert," is a testament to her perseverance and dedication. She not only produced, wrote, and starred in the film but also directed it. The film has been featured in over 10 film festivals, including the Oscar-qualifying LA Shorts, BAFTA-qualifying Carmarthen Bay Film Festival, and the established Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival. "Tempest Desert" has garnered numerous awards and nominations, including the outstanding excellence in directing award.
