Tamara Almeida is a bilingual actor and producer who was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, and is a first-generation Canadian of Chilean and Ecuadorian descent. She discovered her passion for performing at a young age and went on to participate in various school productions, with Annie being her first role at the age of 10.
After completing her education, Tamara began working in Sales and Business Development, finding great success at a Fortune 100 company. However, she always wondered about pursuing a career in the arts, and eventually decided to switch careers and began training extensively.
Tamara's first major break came when she was cast as Anna in the Hallmark TV movie Entertaining Christmas, starring alongside Jodie Sweetin and Brendan Fehr. Since then, she has amassed a significant body of work in various film and television productions, including Secrets at the Inn (Lifetime),Far Cry 6 (Ubisoft+),Cupids on Beacon Street (Incendo),Revenge Delivered (Prime Video),Degrassi: Next Class (CTV),Odd Squad (TVOKids/PBSKids),Good Witch (Hallmark),Heroes Reborn (NBC),and Warehouse 13 (SYFY).
In addition to her on-screen work, Tamara has also produced and co-produced several short films that have been featured at festivals worldwide. Most recently, she starred as Young Grandma Tess in the popular reboot of the beloved children's television series Ghostwriter, which is streaming on AppleTV+. Her voice has also been featured in multiple animated series, including Joe Murray's Let's Go Luna, alongside Judy Greer and Saara Chaudry.
Tamara is set to recur as Maria García in the new highly anticipated mission-driven series, Jane, for kids and families inspired by the work of Dr. Jane Goodall. The show follows the story of a 9-year-old budding environmentalist on a quest to save endangered animals, and is now streaming globally on Apple TV+. She can also be heard in the upcoming Total Drama Island (HBOMax),which will premiere in North America in Summer 2023.
Outside of acting, Tamara's other passions include technology, travel, and food. She enjoys staying active through rock climbing, boxing, ice skating, and other outdoor activities. Tamara also supports causes close to her heart, including mental health initiatives.
