Following her graduation, Tangi pursued higher education at Alabama State University, where she majored in marketing. Her breakthrough role came when she joined the cast of the popular HBO comedy series Arli$$ in 1996, followed by a stint on the CBS drama Michael Hayes in 1997. However, it was her portrayal of the intelligent and stylish Elena Tyler on the WB hit show Felicity in 1998 that catapulted her to stardom.
In addition to her impressive television career, Tangi has also made a name for herself in the film industry. She has been named one of TV GUIDE'S Sexiest Faces and will next be seen alongside Mekhi Phifer in the independent film The Other Brother, scheduled for release in 2002.
