Tara Sheffer, a renowned filmmaker hailing from Arkansas, boasts an impressive educational background, having earned her Master of Fine Arts degree in filmmaking from the prestigious New York University Tisch School of the Arts. With an extensive portfolio, she has produced over twenty-five captivating short films, including the critically acclaimed "TRAPPED", which received the coveted Jury Award at SXSW, and "FLOUNDER", selected for the prestigious Clermont Ferrand festival and handpicked by Vimeo as a Staff Pick. Additionally, her work on "PLAISIR" secured an official selection at SXSW, further solidifying her reputation as a talented filmmaker. Tara's production credits also include serving as the line producer for "THE LETTER ROOM", a film nominated for the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film.
As a director, Tara has showcased her unique vision through her work on "MY DEAR GOD", which premiered at the New Orleans Film Festival and took home the Sara Driver Award, as well as "SCRATCH-OFF", a finalist for the NYU Tisch King Award and winner of the NYU Tisch King Screenwriting Award. Prior to establishing herself as a filmmaker, Tara held positions as a coordinator at the Department of Motion Pictures and an assistant to the renowned producer Scott Rudin.
