Biography

Tarmo Urb, a multifaceted individual, was born on September 9, 1952, in the city of Tartu. He is an Estonian songwriter, singer, actor, and healer, with a wide range of skills and talents.

Tarmo's educational background is impressive, having studied at Tartu 8th Secondary School and later at the Tartu State University, where he majored in English philology. He further honed his craft at the Tallinn State Conservatory of Performing Arts.

However, Tarmo's life was not without its challenges. He spent five years in various places of detention and a psychoneurological hospital, a result of his repeated attempts to cross the border and his perceived influence on Soviet youth.

Despite these obstacles, Tarmo persevered and eventually left Sweden in 1988, settling in the United States, where he has lived in Los Angeles and New York since 1989.

Throughout his career, Tarmo has collaborated with his brother, Toomas Urb, a singer and actor, to perform lyrical chamber songs in both Estonia and America. Their partnership has spanned decades, showcasing their unique blend of talent and chemistry.

Tarmo is also proud father to Johann Urb, an accomplished actor in his own right.
