Ted Rooney, a native of Portland, Oregon, was born and raised in the city. He is the seventh of nine children, and his father, Ed Rooney, was a teacher and basketball coach at Grant High School, where Ted's path to stardom began.
Ted's educational background is impressive, having graduated from Grant High School and later completing his undergraduate degree in theatre at Lewis and Clark College. He further honed his craft by earning his Master of Fine Arts in acting at Temple University.
After college, Ted pursued a career in semi-professional basketball in Germany, where he lived for six years. He eventually moved to New York City, where he spent six years honing his skills in the theatre scene. Ted's big break came when he landed a role on the popular TV show Seinfeld, specifically in the episode "The Bookstore."
Throughout his career, Ted has taken on a wide range of roles, including Don Quixote, Uncle Vanya, Charlie in The Foreigner, Malvolio, Scrooge, and Dogberry. He has also made guest appearances on various TV shows.
Currently, Ted resides in his hometown of Portland, where he continues to act, teach, and live with his wife Lori and their two children, Abenezer and Betelehem, who were both born in Ethiopia.
Despite his successful career, Ted is still secretly hoping to land that "breakthrough role" that will catapult him to stardom, much like one of his career role models. And, as fate would have it, Ted's secret is no longer a secret.
