Teowa's remarkable journey began in Haiphong, North Vietnam, where she was born. However, her early life took an unexpected turn when she and her family found themselves lost at sea for a staggering three months, fleeing the war in Vietnam. This harrowing experience, marked by encounters with pirates and a near-death experience of falling overboard, would have a profound impact on Teowa's life. Against all odds, she managed to survive and would later find solace in the world of music and performance.
As a young child, Teowa was relocated to Scotland, where she developed a deep passion for music. She went on to pursue her studies in music at prestigious institutions, including Dartington College of Arts, Goldsmith's College, University of London, and SOAS. Her impressive violin credits include performances with renowned artists such as Laurie Anderson, Steve Reich, and Moby, as well as recording sessions at the iconic Abbey Road Studios.
In addition to her impressive career as a violinist, Teowa is also a dedicated and inspirational teacher. She has developed her own unique teaching methodology and has been recognized with a full Scholarship at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Teowa is deeply committed to helping children discover and nurture their passion for music, and her charity, Sponsor A Violin, ensures that her workshops are accessible to all, regardless of background or financial situation.
