Tillotama Shome is a renowned screen actress, most notably recognized for her outstanding portrayal of Alice in Mira Nair's critically acclaimed film, Monsoon Wedding.
She has also demonstrated her versatility as a performer by taking on pivotal roles in various projects. Notably, she played the role of Deepa in Florian Gallenberger's epic film, Shadows of Time (Schatten der Zeit),and appeared as Lara in Meneka Das's Little Box of Sweets, Jaya in Afia Nathaniel's short film Long After, and Miraal in Tanuj Chopra's Butterfly.
Prior to her relocation to New York, Tillotama Shome was involved in various on-screen acting projects, in addition to her work as a teaching artist at the Creative Arts Team/City University of New York.
During her time in New York, she worked as a teaching artist at the Creative Arts Team/City University of New York, utilizing theatre as a medium to promote social, emotional, and intellectual growth in communities throughout the city. Her work addressed a wide range of issues, including peer pressure, violence, sexuality, substance abuse, parenting, and HIV/AIDS prevention.

Tillotama Shome holds a strong educational background, having earned bachelors and masters degrees in English literature from India, as well as a second master's degree from New York University in Educational Theatre.
