Tim's journey began with a prestigious education at the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Clown college, graduating in 1971. Subsequently, he embarked on a traveling circus adventure, where he refined his skills in elephant training. This experience laid the foundation for his subsequent role at the St. Louis zoo, where he trained elephants for the show.
As he returned to his home state of California, Tim's diverse talents, including proficiency in four musical instruments, drew him to the field of sound. In 1976, he started his career at Universal Studios as a boom man. His impressive skills and dedication led to his first studio picture mixing experience for Columbia in 1981, titled Blue Thunder.
Throughout his illustrious career, Tim has garnered widespread recognition and respect as a production sound mixer. His impressive list of nominations includes an Oscar, three Emmys, two Cinema Audio Society awards, and three Golden Reel nominations. In 2000, he proudly accepted the Golden Reel award for best sound, cementing his status as a leading expert in his field.
