Tim B. Toidze is a renowned filmmaker, celebrated for his exceptional work in crafting historical documentaries and television dramas. One of his most notable creations is the surreal documentary "Khrushchev Does America", which tells the fascinating story of Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev's visit to the United States during the height of the Cold War. This captivating film has been broadcast in over 30 countries and was also acquired by the prestigious PBS series "American Experience". Furthermore, "Khrushchev Does America" was selected as an official entry at the renowned "Hot Docs 2014" festival, as well as other prominent film festivals worldwide. The documentary has garnered numerous accolades, including the Best Historical Film award at the "Figra 2014" festival in France, the Use of Historical Archives Award at the "Impact Media 2014" festival in Italy, and the Special Commendation Award at the "Prix Europa 2013" festival in Germany. The film was produced in collaboration with ARTE (France),Point Du Jour (France),Robert Stone Productions (USA),and Toidze's own company, Sundial Entertainment Inc. (Canada).
Tim Toidze's journey in the film industry began at a young age, with his first job as an assistant editor at the tender age of 13 in Moscow. In 1994, he relocated to England, where he pursued a degree in Media at Greenhill College while working as a researcher for Channel 4 and the BBC. Two years later, he moved to Canada, where he established himself as an editor, researcher, and production manager on numerous projects for The History Channel. Eventually, Toidze transitioned into directing and producing, and today, he boasts an impressive portfolio of 15 documentary films as a director and over 20 projects as a producer.
