Tina King, a native of Florida, has claimed Georgia as her home, having graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Nursing and a minor in theatre. Her passion for theatre, however, ultimately led her to abandon her nursing career, instead opting to pursue a career in the performing arts.
After completing her studies, Tina joined the Alliance Theatre group as an assistant, where she learned the ins and outs of the industry. During this period, her passion for theatre solidified, and she made the bold decision to relocate to New York City in pursuit of her dreams.
The challenges of city life, however, proved to be significant, and Tina found herself facing unforeseen circumstances. Despite the obstacles, she refused to give up on her craft, and instead, resorted to living in her car for six months. This experience had a profound impact on Tina, making her more driven and resilient in the face of adversity.
Tina's determination paid off, as she began landing roles in various film and television productions, including Law and Order, Third Watch, and Inside Man. She also became an active member of several unions, including SAG, AFTRA, and AEA.
In addition to her work in film and television, Tina has also made a name for herself on the New York theatre scene. Her curiosity and desire for new challenges led her to purchase a one-way ticket to Los Angeles in early 2008, marking the beginning of a new chapter in her career.
Now a resident of Los Angeles for almost two years, Tina has had the opportunity to work alongside some of the industry's biggest names, including Will Smith and Eddie Murphy. Her unique blend of sass and humility has earned her recognition as an emerging artist, with the Toluca Lake Times describing her as having "sass and vinegar."
When asked what sets her apart from her peers, Tina attributes her success to her ability to remember her struggles, know how to walk through humility, and remain humble at the same time.
