Tinu Suresh Desai, born as Dharmendra, is a multifaceted individual hailing from Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, with a rich cultural heritage stemming from his Gujarati-speaking family.
As the son of renowned production manager Suresh Desai, who has had the privilege of working on numerous iconic films such as Sholay, Shaan, Seeta and Geeta, Andaz, Sagar, Saheb, Zamaana Deewana, and many more, Tinu's exposure to the film industry was inevitable.
Tinu's career in the film industry commenced in 1997, as he began working as an Assistant Director, gradually ascending the ranks to become a Chief Assistant, Associate Director, and eventually, a debut director with the film 1920 London.
Notably, Tinu is known for his work on the award-winning film Rustom, which earned him the Star Screen Award for "Most Promising Debut Director" in 2016, as well as the ETC Bollywood Business Award 2016. Moreover, Akshay Kumar's outstanding performance in Rustom garnered him his first national award.
Currently, Tinu is actively working on his upcoming film, Mission Raniganj -The Great Bharat Rescue, scheduled for release in 2023.
