The remarkable acrobatic tap trio, aptly named Tip Tap & Toe, thrilled audiences in the world of vaudeville and on the prestigious stages of Broadway, sharing the spotlight with the illustrious Eddie Cantor and gracing the iconic George White's "Scandals". However, it's worth noting that they did not make appearances in the film adaptations of those productions.
The trio comprised of three talented individuals, each bringing their unique skills to the table: Samuel Green, who donned the title of "tip", Ted Fraser, the master of "tap", and Ray Winfield, the innovative "toe" of the group.
One of the distinctive features of their performances was their ability to dance on unconventional surfaces, including table tops and other small spaces, showcasing their remarkable agility and coordination.
Ray Winfield, in particular, is widely regarded as the pioneer of the sliding style of tap, a technique that would later be emulated by numerous other dancers, cementing his status as a trailblazer in the world of tap dance.
