Born in Indiana, Storm, a world-class martial artist, has trained in various styles for over 19 years, holding belts in Arashi-Ryu Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Ninjitsu, Jujitsu, and Northern Shaolin Kung Fu.
Storm's action career began unexpectedly, when his mother, a strong-willed individual, forced him to take Karate at the age of eight due to his hyperactive and clumsy nature. However, Storm's life has been marked by unexpected twists and turns. Born "Juan Ricardo Ojeda" to an African-American father and Puerto Rican mother, he was later adopted by a Native American-Caucasian mother and Mexican-American father, and raised in the Asian/Polynesian culture of Honolulu, Hawaii. This melting pot of cultures has had a profound impact on Storm's identity, as he has often found himself checking the box marked "other."
As a shy high school student, Storm discovered break-dancing as a means of fitting in, which quickly became his passion. He went on to win over 200 dance competitions in hip hop and break-dance, earning a dance scholarship that allowed him to move to LA and dance in music videos. However, dancing only provided him with enough money for rent and a meager diet of ramen noodles and pop tarts, leaving little room for other pursuits.
Storm's devotion to the martial arts led him to observe an outdoor Northern Shaolin class on his way home from work, and he was eventually approached by the teacher to join. This marked the beginning of his journey to broaden his knowledge of the martial arts. Seeking to further channel his creative energies, Storm began acting, graduating from the Joanne Baron/D.W. Brown Acting Academy. His breakout role as Bayu on the television series Conan The Adventurer allowed him to develop his unique style, which combines martial arts, acrobatic skill, comedic timing, and a balletic grace.
Since then, Storm has had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of actors and directors, including Jet Li, Samo Hung, Sir Ben Kingsley, Michael Madsen, Kelly Hu, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Michelle Rodriquez, Neal McDonough, and Kristanna Loken.
