Thomas Milburn Davis III, born on January 5, 1949, is a renowned American lobbyist and former prominent Republican figure in the United States House of Representatives, having served Virginia's 11th congressional district in Northern Virginia with distinction.
Prior to his retirement from politics, Davis was seriously contemplating a run for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by the esteemed five-term incumbent and fellow Republican, John Warner, in the 2008 election. However, after careful consideration, he ultimately decided against it.
On January 30, 2008, Davis publicly announced that he would not be seeking reelection to an eighth term in Congress, marking the end of his illustrious legislative career. He subsequently resigned from his position in the House of Representatives on November 24, 2008.
Following his departure from politics, Davis transitioned into the private sector, serving as a director of federal government affairs at Deloitte from 2008 to 2018.
