Biography

Tom Greene was born and raised in Los Angeles, where he developed a passion for the creative arts from a young age. He began making films in high school and quickly gained recognition, winning several international awards. His talent caught the attention of Universal Studio's Christopher Wood, who purchased one of his films for their Independent Film Series.

Wood, along with other studio executives, were impressed by Tom's work and allowed him to "roam the lot" to observe TV and motion picture productions. Tom took advantage of this opportunity, sequestering an abandoned office and sending memos and notes to various producers about their productions. He was soon noticed and mentored by producers William Sackheim and Harve Bennett, as well as award-winning writer-director Joel Oliansky.

At the age of 19, Tom secured a writer's contract at Universal and went on to work with renowned directors Robert Wise and Mark Robson on numerous motion pictures, including EARTHQUAKE and THE HINDENBURG. He also worked with Robert Wise on the production of the first STAR TREK motion picture.

Tom's career spanned over three decades, during which he wrote over 150 scripts for feature films, pilots, and TV series, and produced over 100 hours of TV. He worked with many legendary directors, including Alfred Hitchcock, Billy Wilder, George Roy Hill, and John Frankenheimer.

Some of his notable works include the series THE LAW, MAN FROM ATLANTIS, KNIGHT RIDER, and DOG AND CAT, which launched the careers of several top Hollywood stars. He also worked on the ABC/WALT DISNEY STUDIOS award-winning Western Mini-Series WILDSIDE, which starred Academy Award-nominated Howard Rollins and Meg Ryan.

Tom continued to write and produce popular series such as MAGNUM P.I., TALES OF THE GOLD MONKEY, and KNIGHT RIDER, and was writer, creator, and Executive Producer of the series SWAMP THING and THUNDER IN PARADISE. He also directed episodes of the series and wrote two spin-off motion pictures and the first interactive CD-i game based on a television series.

In addition to his work in the entertainment industry, Tom is an accomplished musician and composer, and has been involved in various charity rodeos and Renaissance Fairs to raise money for horse sanctuaries. He has also trained as a fencer and has used his skills in many of his productions.

Tom has written two books, "A Snowball In Hell" and "Off The Boss: A Survival Manual", and has developed a pioneering literacy program, THE WORD FIRST©, which has been sponsored by the Writers Guild of America Foundation, CAA, and Universal Studios. He travels to high schools throughout the country, working with "at risk" students to write and perform one-act plays.
