Tom Musca is a renowned producer and writer who initially gained recognition for his work on the 1988 film Stand and Deliver, a Warner Bros. production starring Edward James Olmos that earned an Oscar nomination and six Independent Spirit Awards, including Best Picture and Best Screenplay. This critically acclaimed film is now preserved in the National Film Registry of the U.S. Library of Congress.
In recent years, Musca has become a prominent figure in Miami's film industry, writing and directing Chateau Vato, which premiered on HBO and won the Best Actress award for Elpidia Carrillo at the 2021 Barcelona Film Festival. His other notable projects include Amaraica, which received the Best U.S. feature award at the 2020 NY Latino Film Festival and is currently streaming on HBO until 2023. Additionally, Musca produced Make Love Great Again, an immigration drama that was also licensed to HBO.
Musca has also written roles for a diverse range of Hollywood actors, including John Cusack, Andy Garcia, James Gandolfini, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Benicio del Toro, Raquel Welch, Sidney Poitier, Lou Diamond Phillips, Hector Elizondo, River Phoenix, CCH Pounder, Cliff Robertson, Estelle Harris, Michael Madsen, and America Ferrera, among many others.

Musca has also ventured into writing, co-authoring the comedic novel Formerly Cool with Jay Abramowitz, which is assigned reading in college classrooms. He has held various teaching positions, including the Moseley Fellow for Creative Writing at Pomona College, a guest lecturer at the Sundance Institute, NYU, USC, AFI, and has conducted MPAA producing and screenwriting workshops on four continents.
