Nottinghamshire native, born in Sutton in Ashfield, began his life's journey in this charming town. However, his formative years were spent in Shirebrook, a place of great significance as it is the birthplace of the illustrious actor, John Hurt. He resided in this picturesque town until the age of 16, when he made the bold decision to join The Royal Green Jackets. This marked the beginning of a 14-year stint in the forces, during which he had the privilege of serving in various exotic locations, including Kenya, Bosnia, Cyprus, Jordan, and Northern Ireland. After dedicating 14 years to his country, he hung up his uniform in 2004 and pursued a new passion - acting. At the ripe age of 31, he made his stage debut, initially appearing as Paul Slaney in the production "Finding Polish." This marked the beginning of his journey in the world of theatre, where he went on to tread the boards in "Macsaul" and "Alice in Wonderland." His subsequent foray into television saw him appear in a plethora of shows, including BBC's "Death Comes to Pemberley" and "Landgirls," among many others.
