Tom Verica is a multifaceted individual with a distinguished career as an actor, director, and executive producer. He currently serves as the Head of Creative Production for Shondaland/Netflix.
As a creative leader, Tom has held various roles, including executive producer and director on several successful projects for Shondaland/Netflix. These projects include QUEEN CHARLOTTE, BRIDGERTON, and INVENTING ANNA, for which he received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Limited Series and a Directors Guild Award nomination for Best Director of a Limited Series.
Tom has also worked with Shonda Rhimes on other projects, including SCANDAL and FOR THE PEOPLE, serving as executive producer and director.
As a director, Tom has helmed over one hundred hours of television, including pilots and episodes for shows such as THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY, GREY'S ANATOMY, BOSTON LEGAL, UGLY BETTY, and AMERICAN DREAMS.
In addition to his work as a director, Tom has also had a successful acting career, appearing in numerous film, stage, and television productions. Some of his notable acting credits include the role of Sam Keating in HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER, Jack Pryor in AMERICAN DREAMS, and Dick Gordon in FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON.
Tom has also made appearances on TV shows such as WILL & GRACE, THE NAKED TRUTH, LA LAW, CENTRAL PARK WEST, THE NINE, PROVIDENCE, and SEINFELD. His feature film credits include ZODIAC, FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS, MURDER BY NUMBERS, RED DRAGON, and DIE HARD 2. In theater, Tom has performed on and Off-Broadway in numerous stage plays, including the Tony-nominated production of PRELUDE TO A KISS.
Tom is an advocate for the development, mentorship, and inclusion of new directors and is involved with various programs aimed at achieving this goal. He serves on the Directors Guild of America's Television Creative Rights Committee and has a long history of supporting directors' educational and equity programming across the entertainment industry. Tom is a proud member of the DGA, PGA, and SAG/AFTRA.
