Biography

Tomás Ferreira is a Portuguese film writer-director with a passion for storytelling that began to unfold during his undergraduate studies at Lisbon Theatre and Film School, where he honed his skills in screenwriting and editing, laying the groundwork for his future directorial endeavors.

As he progressed to his Master's program in Film Directing at the University of South Wales in the UK, Cardiff, Tomás's creative voice continued to mature, and he began to craft both documentary and fiction short films, showcasing his versatility as a filmmaker.

In 2019, Tomás had the opportunity to participate in the Biennal of Contemporary Arts workshop "Spirits, Shadows and Reflections" led by the renowned director João Salaviza, a testament to his growing reputation in the industry.

In 2020, Tomás co-wrote a short film that was selected for a creative supporting program at the prestigious 2021 Cannes Film Festival, further solidifying his position as a rising talent in the world of cinema.

Fast forward to 2022, Tomás's short film "In a House, At Night" made its debut at the Soho London Film Festival and went on to tour the independent festival circuit, earning recognition at the acclaimed Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market, a true testament to his artistic prowess.
