Here is the biography of Tommaso Ciampa:
Tommaso Ciampa is an American professional wrestler currently signed with WWE, where he competes in their developmental territory NXT. He is a one-time NXT Tag Team Champion and a one-time NXT Champion.
Early Career:
Ciampa began his wrestling career in 2005, debuting in Chaotic Wrestling as "Tommy Penmanship". He won his first championship, the Chaotic Wrestling New England Championship, on August 8, 2005. He held the title for half a year before losing it to Psycho.
Independent Circuit:
Ciampa spent a couple of months without winning a singles match, losing to Matt Logan and Psycho. However, alongside Psycho, he won a Lethal Lottery Tournament first round match. Ciampa and Psycho qualified for a battle royal to determine the number one contender to the CW Heavyweight Championship, but the match was won by Luis Ortiz.
Ring of Honor (ROH):
Ciampa began working regularly for ROH in January 2011, defeating Mike Sydal on the January 22 Ring of Honor Wrestling tapings. He joined Prince Nana in his heel stable The Embassy and went on to defeat Adam Cole and Grizzly Redwood. Ciampa signed a contract with ROH in July 2011 and went on to win the 2012 March Mayhem tournament.
Injury and Departure from ROH:
Ciampa suffered an injury on August 11, 2012, during a match against Jay Lethal, which required surgery and sidelined him for a year. He returned to action in May 2013 and went on to win the ROH World Television Championship. Ciampa departed from ROH in March 2015.
Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA):
Ciampa made an appearance on the pre-taped September 30 episode of Impact Wrestling in an X-Division triple threat match. He wrestled for TNA once again on the April 1st 2016 edition of TNA Xplosion in a losing effort against Crazzy Steve.
Return to WWE NXT:
Although not re-signed to WWE, Ciampa was announced as part of the WWE NXT Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament in September 2015. He went on to sign a new exclusive NXT contract in September 2016.
Feud with Johnny Gargano:
Ciampa and Gargano formed a tag team called "#DIY" and went on to win the NXT Tag Team Championship. However, Ciampa turned heel and attacked Gargano, disbanding #DIY. Ciampa and Gargano had a series of matches, including an unsanctioned match at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, and a Chicago Street Fight at NXT TakeOver: Chicago II.
NXT Championship:
Ciampa won the NXT Championship by defeating Aleister Black on the July 18 tapings of the July 25 episode of NXT. This made him only the second wrestler to hold both the NXT Championship and NXT Tag Team Championship, after Neville.
