Toni Attell's biography is a testament to her exceptional talent and versatility as an Emmy-nominated actor. With a wide range of credits in television and film, she has had the privilege of working with some of the most renowned masters in the performance arts field, including Jean Louis Barroult, Marcel Marceau, and Mamako Yoenyama for mime, Carlos Mazzonne for Comedia del Arte, Bill Ball, David Dukes, Paul Shanar, David Alexander, Nina Foch, and Harvey Lembeck for improvisation, comedy, and acting.
Throughout her illustrious career, Toni has performed with esteemed institutions such as the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, Theater West in Los Angeles, and has toured over 350 colleges in the United States as a mime-comedienne, teaching master classes in movement and acting. She has also created and performed five one-woman shows, founded the Comedy Store Players in Los Angeles, and choreographed and taught the clowns at Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
Toni's extensive experience extends to music videos, having choreographed a variety of videos, including Kim Carnes' "Betty Davis Eyes." She has also taught and helped create a summer program for actors and writers at the Los Angeles Theater Center, and has recently toured Japan and China, performing her new one-woman shows and teaching acting.
Notably, Toni has started a stand-up comedy group comprised of children called "The Comedy Pups," which was featured on national television. With over twenty-five years of teaching experience, she has instructed children, teens, adults, and seniors in the art of acting. Her most recent performance was a comedy-mime act at Robin Williams' birthday party at The Throckmorton Theatre in Northern California.
As a comedian and mime, Toni has had the honor of opening for renowned comedians such as Jay Leno, Steve Martin, and Robin Williams, and has won the award for Best Comic coming out of the U.S. by US magazine. She has also hosted her own radio show on KRLA Smart-Talk radio, "The Romantic Intuitive," and is currently active in acting, lecturing, and performing.
Toni has taught at esteemed institutions such as the USC School of Cinema, teaching acting to writers and directors, and at Chapman's Dodge School of Film, teaching acting for non-actors. She has also led numerous workshops for UCLA Extension, covering topics such as Acting: The Fundamentals, Acting II, Acting for Commercials, Acting for Non-Actors, Voice and Movement, and Improvisation.
In addition to her teaching endeavors, Toni has written two books: "Just Kidding, Stand-Up Comedy for Kids of All Ages" and "The Little Blue Book for Filmmakers: A Primer for Directors, Writers, Actors, and Producers," a workbook published by Hal Leonard and Limelight publishing, co-authored with Carl Gottlieb, the famous screenwriter of Jaws, The Jerk, Dr. Detroit, and Vice President of The Writers Guild.
