Tony Hall

Anthony William Hall, Baron Hall of Birkenhead, CBE, a prominent and distinguished figure in the realm of broadcasting, has been entrusted with the esteemed position of Director-General of the British Broadcasting Corporation since April 2nd, 2013. Prior to this distinguished appointment, Hall held the influential role of Chief Executive of the renowned Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London, a position he occupied from the year 2001 up until March 2013, where he was responsible for overseeing the overall strategy and direction of the esteemed institution. Furthermore, Hall has a substantial background in journalism, having served as the Director of News at the BBC between the years 1993 and 2001, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the organization's news output and direction.
