Tony Rock, not to be confused with his favorite wrestler, was born with a natural knack for entertaining, just like his brother Chris Rock. Born in Brooklyn, New York Hospital, where most of his seven brothers and one sister found their way into the world, Tony had to develop his sense of humor to survive.
Growing up on Decatur Street in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, which was one of the toughest in New York, Tony drew inspiration from the rich characters that surrounded him. This environment helped shape his unique perspective and sense of humor.
Tony has been performing for the past four years, and after just six months in the business, his first booking on the road led him to Amsterdam, Netherlands, where he became a more popular figure than "Ed Joost Swarte".
Upon returning to New York, Tony gained a reputation as a young star in the making. The Hollywood Reporter in 2001 picked him as one of the hot young talents to come out of New York, and People Magazine featured him in their July 7, 2003 issue.
Since February 2000, Tony has become bi-coastal, performing regularly at famous comedy clubs such as the "Comic Strip", "Caroline's", and "Stand-Up New York" in New York, and "The Comedy Store", "Improv", and "Icehouse" in Los Angeles.
In addition to his stand-up comedy career, Tony has also appeared in several television pilots and series, including "Me and My Needs", "It's Your Show", "BattleBots", "Can You Tell?", and "All of Us". He has also appeared in the movie "Hitch" alongside Will Smith.
A highlight of Tony's career was when he headlined with Mark Curry and John Henton at Harlem's world-famous "Apollo Theater", bringing his unique brand of comedy to one of the most iconic venues in the world.
