Toy Lei, a multi-talented individual, has made a significant impact in the film industry as an actor, director, fight choreographer, and swordswoman. Her 2012 directorial debut, The Wedding, earned her recognition as one of the top 5 filmmakers by the Asian-American Film Lab and New York Women in Film and Television.
Throughout her career, Lei has received numerous awards and accolades for her work, including multiple Film, Best Actress, Best Action, and Best Stunts awards. In 2019, her feature-length script, Boxer, was a semifinalist at the prestigious Austin Film Festival.
Lei's skills and versatility have also led to her involvement in notable projects, such as attending the highly-selective 2019 NYWIFT FS2P directing program in New York. Additionally, her emotional intensity and movement skills caught the attention of director Alejandro Innaritu, who cast her in his Oscar-winning 2017 film, Carne y Arena.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Lei is a proud mother to her beloved dog, Wilfred.
