Trel Sha'Vega, born Trevor Rigby, is a multifaceted American creative force, hailing from Mission Viejo, California. With a dual educational background from the University of Central Florida and the University of South Florida, Trel boasts a Bachelor's degree in music and a Master's in conducting. His journey began with the esteemed Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps from Concord, California, where he performed and later instructed, laying the groundwork for his future endeavors.
As a seasoned director, Trel has had the privilege of helming numerous theatrical musicals, including the 2010 winner of Best National Musical at the Orlando Fringe Festival, "Inertia - The Musical." This remarkable achievement serves as a testament to his talent and dedication to his craft.
In 2015, Trel returned to his California roots, where he was inspired by a former classmate's suggestion to create his own ensemble. Thus, the Hollywood Light Orchestra was born, a unique fusion of live strings, brass, vocals, electronic dance, and hip-hop. This innovative music act gained recognition after appearing on America's Got Talent, culminating in electrifying performances at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.
However, Trel's creative itch soon led him to explore new horizons. He began screenwriting, with his first project underway before the 2020 pandemic brought his endeavors to a halt. Rather than idly waiting for circumstances to change, Trel drew upon his experiences to pen the story that would become his debut feature film, "Morgan's Mask."
