Trevor Torseth was born in a remote area situated on the border between Ontario and Minnesota, with Canada mere steps away. His adolescence and sturdy build, reminiscent of a bricklayer's frame, led him to pursue football on the Minnesota gridiron. However, his true calling lay on the stage, as evidenced by his early role as "Archie Lee" in Tennessee Williams' production of The Long Stay Cut Short. This casting decision proved to be a harbinger of future success, as Torseth would go on to collaborate with Williams on numerous occasions.
After earning a Bachelor's degree from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, Torseth was cast in the Minneapolis production of Tony 'n Tina's Wedding, which marked a significant milestone in his career. The experience, combined with the natural restlessness that often accompanies a midwestern thespian's existence, prompted Torseth to relocate to Los Angeles.
In Los Angeles, Torseth navigated the familiar landscape of Hollywood, bouncing from one project to the next until he landed the role of "Jake" in Williams' 27 Wagons Full of Cotton. His commanding, fearless, and comically absurd portrayal of the character cemented his reputation as a force to be reckoned with, earning him the nickname "an aching bull of a performer."
Torseth's subsequent roles in films and television showcased his versatility, as he played heavies and delivered pointed guest performances. One of his most memorable roles was that of Ron Hacker, a tortured homeless veteran, in the ensemble series LOOK. Throughout his career, Trevor Torseth has been many things: a raging beast, a Viking Lorax, and the owner of every room he's ever been in.
