Tunde Kelani, a renowned filmmaker, holds a Diploma in the Art and Technique of Filmmaking from the prestigious London International Film School, London. With a rich background in the Nigerian Film Industry, he has spent many years honing his skills as a Cinematographer, working on numerous feature films, including Anikura; Ogun Ajaye; Iya Ni Wura; Taxi Driver; Iwa and Fopomoyo.
Kelani's impressive portfolio also includes award-winning video productions, such as Ti Oluwa Nile; Ayo Ni Mo Fe; Koseegbe and Oleku. As an advocate for 'Alternative Technology' in motion picture production in Africa, he has successfully produced and directed several digital features, including Saworoide, Thunderbolt, and Agogo-eewo, shot on widescreen digitally on Dvcam.
In addition to his feature films, Kelani has also worked on several short feature films, including Twins of the Rainforest, A Place Called Home, and Barber's Wisdom (35MM),as well as photographed, produced, and directed a short feature in 16mm, The White Handkerchief. He has also produced and directed The Campus Queen, Abeni, and The Narrow Path, which explored the possibilities of advanced digital filmmaking.
Kelani's latest film, Arugba, has recently concluded free, open-air community screenings in 57 local government and development council areas of Lagos State in Nigeria, as part of the Mobile Cinema Project, designed to bring information and entertainment to the grassroots.
His latest film, Maami, tells the poignant story of a single parent, Maami, and her young son who are desperately poor, offering a powerful exploration of the struggles faced by many Nigerians.
