Valentina Cervi is an Italian film and television actress, born on April 13, 1974, in Rome, Italy. As the daughter of director Tonino Cervi and granddaughter of the renowned Italian actor Gino Cervi, she was destined for a career in the entertainment industry.
Cervi began her acting career at the tender age of ten in Carlo Cotti's Portami la luna (1987). She continued to hone her craft, taking on roles in various films and television shows. One of her most notable performances was in Jane Campion's The Portrait of a Lady (1996),where she played an English-language role.
However, it was her lead role in Artemisia (1997),directed by Agnès Merlet, that truly showcased her talent. The film was loosely based on the life of the painter Artemisia Gentileschi, and Cervi's portrayal of the titular character was met with critical acclaim.
