Valentino Rossi, a renowned Italian professional motorcycle racer, has established himself as one of the most accomplished and successful riders in the history of the sport. With an impressive nine Grand Prix World Championships under his belt, seven of which are in the premier class, he is widely regarded as the greatest motorcycle racer of all time.
Rossi's racing career began in 1996, following in the footsteps of his father, Graziano Rossi, and competing in the 125cc category for Aprilia. He quickly made a name for himself, winning his first World Championship just a year later. His success in the 125cc category led to a move up to the 250cc category with Aprilia, where he claimed the 250cc World Championship in 1999.
The following year, Rossi graduated to the premier class, joining Honda and winning the 500cc World Championship in 2001. He went on to win the MotoGP World Championships in 2002 and 2003 with Honda, before continuing his streak of back-to-back championships by winning the titles in 2004 and 2005 after joining Yamaha. Rossi's impressive form at Yamaha saw him regain the title in 2008 and retain it in 2009.
However, his time at Yamaha was not without its challenges. He left the team to join Ducati for the 2011 season, but struggled to replicate his previous success, enduring two winless seasons. In 2012, it was confirmed that Rossi would rejoin Yamaha for the 2013 and 2014 seasons, bringing an end to his time with Ducati.
