Vanna Marie Rosich, later known as Vanna White, was born in Conway, South Carolina, to Miguel Angel Rosich and Joan Marie Rosich. However, her life took a dramatic turn when her father disappeared shortly after her birth, leaving her mother to raise her on her own.
Years later, Vanna's mother remarried Herbert White, and Vanna adopted her stepfather's last name. The family relocated to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where Herbert White established a successful real estate business, White's Realty.
As Vanna entered adulthood, she decided to pursue a career in Hollywood, where her striking appearance and charming personality would be valued. She quickly befriended other aspiring actresses and met the love of her life, John Gibson.
Tragedy struck when Vanna won her spot on Wheel of Fortune, and John was killed in a private plane crash just four years into their relationship. Devastated by the loss, Vanna continued to pursue her career, eventually meeting Tracy Vaccaro, Jessie Eastland, and restaurateur George Santopietro at a dinner in Studio City, California.
Five years later, Vanna married George Santopietro, with whom she had two children. However, the couple divorced in 2002. Despite the challenges she faced, Vanna continued to thrive, remaining the iconic letter turner on Wheel of Fortune, one of the most successful game shows in television history, as of 2017.
