Subsequently, she ventured into the realm of theatre, showcasing her talents in various productions before transitioning to television, securing a spot on VTM.
Her remarkable breakthrough came in 2005 when she won the esteemed "John Kraaijkamp Musical Award" for her captivating portrayal of Pippi Longstocking in the theatre adaptation. This triumph was swiftly followed by another notable achievement in 2008, as she received awards for her outstanding performance as Sara in the Flemish version of the popular TV show Ugly Betty.
As her television career continued to flourish, she landed a significant role in the movie Loft, preceding her starring part as the tough and formidable police chief, Hannah Maes, in the TV series Code 37, which spanned three seasons.
In 2012, Veerle Baetens explored her creative side by co-founding the band "Dallas" with her friend Sandrine, releasing their debut album "Take it All" that same year. She also contributed to the soundtrack of the movie "The Broken Circle Breakdown," in which she played the poignant role of Elise, a grieving mother who loses her daughter.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Veerle Baetens shares a loving relationship with her partner Geert and is a devoted mother to their daughter, born in 2008. The family resides in Belgium, where they cherish a peaceful and fulfilling life.
